Terms of Use

Last updated September 2026

These terms govern your use of Mangoma. They cover what you may do on the platform, what you keep ownership of, and what we may do if the rules are broken. Our Privacy Policy is a separate document and explains how we handle your personal information.

1.Accepting these terms

By creating an account, uploading music, or otherwise using Mangoma, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live. If you use Mangoma on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

2.Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details and for keeping your password and any verification codes confidential. Activity carried out through your account is treated as yours.

Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You may close your account at any time from your profile settings.

3.Music you upload

You keep ownership of your music. Uploading to Mangoma does not transfer copyright in your recordings, compositions or artwork.

By uploading, you grant Mangoma a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, stream, and where you enable it make available for download, your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. This licence exists so we can legally serve your music to listeners; it ends for new distribution when you remove the content, though copies already downloaded by listeners are outside our control.

You confirm that you hold the rights to everything you upload, including featured performances, samples, and cover artwork, and that doing so does not infringe anyone else's rights.

4.Downloads and listening

Where an artist has enabled downloads, files are provided for personal listening. You may not resell, redistribute, upload elsewhere, or commercially exploit downloaded music without permission from the rights holder.

Downloaded files carry embedded metadata identifying the track, the artist and Mangoma as the source. Removing or altering that information to disguise the origin of a recording is not permitted.

5.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content you do not have the rights to distribute
  • Impersonate an artist, label or any other person
  • Upload material that is unlawful, hateful, or harmful to children
  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically harvest the catalogue
  • Attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits or authentication
  • Artificially inflate plays, likes, follows or download counts
  • Upload malware, or attempt to disrupt or overload the service

6.Moderation and enforcement

We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or close accounts where these terms are broken, where we are required to act by law, or where content is reported and found to infringe someone's rights.

Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why. Serious cases — such as child safety or repeated copyright infringement — may result in immediate removal without notice.

7.Copyright complaints

If you believe material on Mangoma infringes your copyright, contact us with your details, identification of the work, the location of the material on Mangoma, and a statement that you hold the rights or are authorised to act. We will review and, where appropriate, remove the material. Accounts that repeatedly infringe may be closed.

8.Verification and badges

Verified badges indicate that we have confirmed an account against our published criteria at the time of review. Verification is granted at our discretion, is not a commercial endorsement, and may be removed if the criteria are no longer met or the account breaches these terms.

9.Events, magazine and community content

Events submitted by users are reviewed before publication, but we do not organise them and are not responsible for tickets, entry, cancellation or anything occurring at an event.

Comments and other community contributions are the responsibility of whoever posted them. We may remove contributions that breach these terms.

10.Availability

We work to keep Mangoma running reliably, but the service is provided as-is. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and features may change, be added or be withdrawn as the platform develops.

11.Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Mangoma is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or loss arising from content uploaded by users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

12.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform changes. Where changes are significant we will make them visible on the site. Continuing to use Mangoma after an update means you accept the revised terms.

13.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe.

14.Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact options in the site footer.
